This week you're in for a treat. Your first prospective client may have been secured, and now it is time for your interview. Whether working online or in an office, many people feel a bit overwhelmed with the interview process. There is no need to worry whether the meeting takes place in an office where you can see your employer directly or on a monitor. I discussed Upwork in my previous blog post, but this week we will take it up a notch. Freelancing is one of the most rewarding careers you could ever venture into. It is flexible for those who want to spend time with their children, provide a steady income, and provide a career path. To attain this goal, you must enhance your skills, market yourself, and paint a picture of who you are to the rest of the world. You have now embarked on this journey and are applying for jobs but are not receiving any responses. How is this possible? Among other things, freelancers should use social media to reach their target audience.

Freelancers may know Upwork since it's a popular freelancing platform. For those who don't, Upwork is a freelancing platform focused on hiring skilled workers, from entry-level professionals to experts in a wide range of fields. In my opinion, this is one of the best platforms to use alongside Fiverr, and I still use both of them today. Despite specific challenges I encounter, I find myself enjoying using them nonetheless. You know everything has pros and cons, and we tend to pick something when the pros outweigh the cons; it's the same for Upwork. I continue to use it because even though there are cons, the pros outweigh them. Upwork allows you to work on a contract basis; the scheduling is up to you and your client. Freelancers on Upwork are permitted to establish their working hours and availability. Qualitative work, ability, and feedback can help you score bonuses as well. All of this may seem appealing to the eyes and ears, but you are still required to submit proposals to employers to obtain possible employment opportunities. The following are a few obstacles that I overcame while on the platform and that you may have experienced.

  • Introduction to My Blog

Hi Everyone, I am The Precious Empress, a freelancer who is proficient in virtual assistance, social media, content writing and Graphic Design. Hopefully, I can add programming to my list of credentials. In the past year and a half, I have embarked on my freelance journey and have had several eye-opening experiences. Obviously, some of them were good and some of them were bad. My path to freelancing has been unexpected, as I had no prior experience in this field. I had skepticism about it, but nevertheless, I took a leap of faith and don't regret it. My only wish is that someone had warned me of some of the challenges I would encounter while doing this. It has been my pleasure to meet both (Online) entrepreneurs and business professionals, and I have worked with them to gain experiences that have helped me progress in my career pursuits.
