How to Activate the Power of the Holy Spirit
Insight for Living
It is important to know that without power, you are outnumbered and outmatched in the battles of life. The battles of life are hard. In short, life is a battlefield and fighting the battles of life is an inescapable reality. As such, you need the power of the Holy Spirit (universe-altering power of God) to win these battles. > Luke 24:49 NLT. And now I will send the Holy Spirit, just as my Father promised. But stay here in the city until the Holy Spirit comes and fills you with power from heaven. >
Becoming an AI student
During my undergrad CS degree, I was uncertain of the necessity of a Master’s. I can do software engineering just fine, it’s a lot of fun, most of it is really not that difficult once you grasp the basic concepts, and it’s paid well. I was uninspired to find something more because I would already have a plentiful future in the field, and I didn’t need to challenge myself to achieve a comfortable, at least somewhat luxurious lifestyle. Only when my girlfriend was so excited about her Master’s and told me how much work you have to do in advance, I was inspired to give it a look myself; What will I do in the future? Am I really satisfied with this complacent mindset? In 20 years, will I still be happy with the, as I arrogantly thought it, simple art of Software Engineering? The answer came quickly - I was already not happy with it. I was lacking purpose, writing software for some corporate, database-based work that was nothing more than an excuse for comprehensive tracking of manufacturing. When I really thought about it, I didn’t really like my colleagues either, and it seemed that, at least on a technical level, I would not learn much more from them than I already did. It was, again, an arrogant realization, but a healthy one. As I felt it is the most mysterious field in Computer Science, I experimented with Machine Learning frameworks and technologies, explored how they worked, and quickly realized that there is a lot more to learn in this field. A few failed attempts at actually understanding what is going on behind the scenes of TensorFlow, PyTorch et al. passed, and I decided I need to study the field properly. Either in self-directed study or with a more structured approach and gaining the important and expensive piece of paper that allows me to attain positions in AI. As I initially studied in Germany, I didn’t like the discrepancy between German teaching and English resources online, I felt that the language of Computer Science is English, not German. I decided to apply for a few programmes at different reputable universities. Doing all this research on top universities, I quickly realized: If I really wanted to do this, I had to improve my grades. My Bachelor’s Programme would end with a 10-15k word thesis that would have a large influence on my grades, so apart from studying hard for each of the subjects, going from one failed attempt to >90% in some subjects, I had to find a subject that excited me enough to feel that formulating a thesis on it would be worth the effort. Striving for a great topic, I messaged a VP of a research-oriented location of the company I was working for next to my studies, asking whether he had an exciting topic somewhere, preferably something AI-related. To my surprise, he got back to me quickly, saying he can refer me to just the right person, who later became head of AI research for this location. This head of AI research referred me to his colleague in Germany, a brilliant man who helped and advised me throughout my thesis. Sometimes in life, humbly contacting the highest-profile person you have access to in your field of interest can bring great success, even if it is scary, and even though 9 out of 10 times you won’t achieve anything. Russel Simmons’ life advice proved to be correct and I learned more in the 3 months of forming my bachelor’s thesis than I had learned throughout the 3 years of part-time work at the same company before. Not because my thesis supervisor taught me all of these things directly, but because he was able to tell me “try this technology, it was used successfully before”, or “I would like this implemented in your solution”, talking about things I had never heard about before. My excitement about the (secret to the company) topic I was given, together with his excitement about what he mentioned, made me immediately run a search query about these things to find papers, articles, and videos to explain them. After these 3 months of 24/7 thinking, writing, programming, or communicating about the topic, with the support of my girlfriend who cooked for me, and forced me on walks with fresh air at times, I came up with a pretty satisfying result and some great marks. I had to write the entire thesis in the last 3 weeks, most of it in the last week, as well as a last 10-page paper in the 24 hours before the thesis deadline, but I managed. The best part about this experience is that I wasn’t really working, in the traditional sense, for a single minute during this time. Of course, I had an incentive to do it and do it well, but I was so excited that I really just sank into work and didn’t come close to exhaustion throughout the entire time.
A few of my rotten pots.

Rejoice in the Lord always
Insight for Living
Philippians 4:4, Be full of joy \[Rejoice\] in the Lord always. I will say again, ·be full of joy \[rejoice\]. It is important to note that joy is a by product of the Kingdom of God. Romans 14. 17- For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. Thus, one need to acquire the kingdom of God in order to have joy. So how do one acquire this kingdom? The scripture says the kingdom God can be described as a seed-Mark 4:30-31. The seed is further described as the Word. Luke 8.11- Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God. Thus, if you acquire the Word, you have automatically received the kingdom of God. In sum, the measure of the word acquired is the measure of joy you will hold.

Psalm 144.13 EXB Verse 13 Let our barns be filled with crops of all kinds. Let our sheep in the fields have thousands and tens of thousands of lambs. God wants your barn to be filled with good harvest. He wants you to experience exponential growth (tens of thousands of lambs). Unfortunately, many people are experiencing emptiness, lack, and inadequacy. Empty barn is inextricably linked with negative life conditions. Empty barns means that lifelong barriers and troubles are passed on from one generation to the next.
